Course Description


The Master’s program in Business Analytics & Econometrics has as its primary objective studying and applying methods and tools of modern data analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning to solve real-world problems in business and economics. The program combines fundamental analytics and technology skills with groundbreaking knowledge to create the right mindset for a successful career in data analytics for business and economics.

Previous Degree

Bachelor’s degree in economics, mathematics/statistics, computer science, physics, information systems or business administration with an international background.

Required ECTS credits: 180.

In cases where present bachelor studies have not been fully completed, application is permitted if the candidate has earned at least 80% of the required credits and will have achieved the remaining results by September 30th at the latest. The specific admission criteria governing the designated course of study (including the overall grade) must already have been fulfilled on the basis of the exam results available at the time of application.

Applicants must have:

  • at least 30 ECTS in the fields of Business Administration and/or Economics, and at least 24 ECTS in the fields of Statistics and/or Mathematics and/or Information Systems and/or Informatics, or
  • at least 48 ECTS in the fields of Statistics and/or Mathematics and/or Information Systems and/or Infοrmatiсs

Additional information:
English language proficiency can also be proven with a bachelor's degree taught in English, with a double bachelor's degree in which at least one year must have been completed in an English-speaking country, a master's degree taught in English, a German school leaving certificate (e.g., Abiturzeugnis; after the end of class 11 [G8] or class 12 [G9] at least 5 points in German grading system must be demonstrated), the International/ European Baccalaureat (accepted), or a school leaving certificate from a member state of the European Union (the school leaving certificate explicitly states English language proficiency at level B2 in a separate sentence; only the grade is not sufficient). If the higher education entrance qualification were obtained at Rudolf Steiner schools (Waldorf school), the grade at the end of the last class with at least 5 points would be considered. The native speaker has to be verified by school certificates. Check the course website for the language certificates accepted for the semester abroad.

Application Documents


The following documents must be uploaded to KLIPS as originals or as authenticated documents in German or in English:

  1. Bachelor's degree certificate.
  2. Transcript of records: List of all taken modules and courses, including grades and credits.
  3. Transcript of semester abroad (optional): Only if examinations passed abroad should be considered for the admission criteria as well. The courses have to be recognised by the home university as part of the bachelor program and recorded in the transcript of records.
  4. School leaving certificate: A-levels, High school diploma etc.
  5. Official description of the content of all taken bachelor courses.
  6. Proof of Enlish language proficiency (see language requirements).
  7. Preliminary review documentation (VPD) - mandatory for applicants with a bachelor's degree obtained outside Germanу.
