The Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) is a public technical university located in the cities of Cottbus and Senftenberg in the German state of Brandenburg. The BTU was founded in 1991 as the Brandenburgische Technische Universität and merged with the Lausitz University of Applied Sciences in 2013. It has since grown to become the second largest university in Brandenburg, with around 7,000 students. The university's campuses in Cottbus and Senftenberg offer a blend of urban and suburban environments, with modern facilities and scenic surroundings. BTU is renowned for its interdisciplinary approach to education and research, with a particular focus on engineering, natural sciences and social sciences.
